Welcome. I am so glad you are here. My name is Smitha, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of Northern California.
I specialize in working with people of color, couples, and prenatal/postpartum periods. As a first-generation South Asian woman, therapy was not normalized and not easily accessible from a cultural and social standpoint. My passion and the reason for pursuing this career was to disrupt this thinking - to make therapy relatable and inclusive to more types of individuals and communities. My hope is to create a space for conversation that builds curiosity and insight about your life so you can live with more intention and have more fulfilling relationships.
Therapy is an incredibly powerful tool that you can use to invest in yourself and your personal growth.

I recognize that it may feel easier to avoid one another than to feel the pain of the relationship strain: where it once was and where it is now. This is where couples therapy can help. I will guide you through these tough terrains by giving your relationship specialized attention and tools to build new patterns that will help you and your partner understand one another from a more loving and thoughtful space.

Prenatal & Postpartum
One of the biggest transitions in your life is taking place and you can easily feel lost, scared, and anxious. You may be feeling overwhelmed by the “advice” coming your way and not know how to organize it.
Therapy can help. I will provide a space where you can safely share your feelings and thoughts. Together we will hold your experiences so you don’t have to feel the burden on your own, and you have energy to give to other aspects of your life.
